In our pursuit of the latest trends, colors, fabrics, or patterns, it is important not to neglect an important aspect: sustainability. Caring for nature is an aspect that will infiltrate more and more facets of our lives, and sustainability will become a leitmotif of the decade.

 

Excessive consumption of limited resources has led to a rethinking of how we can use waste. Many designers have begun to rethink the processes by which they create products, giving new life to objects before they reach the landfill. The demand for decorative objects, clothing or textiles made of sustainable materials is increasing, and the supply is becoming more and more varied.

 

Regarding Mendola Fabrics products, we intend to introduce a curtain or drape made of sustainable materials or recycled polyester into every new collection.

 

In the Fall-Winter 2021 Collection we included Sanremo, a delicate curtain, made of recycled polyester, which can complete any type of arrangement thanks to the simplicity of the model.

What is recycled polyester?

When creating products from recycled polyester, PET bottles and other polyester sources receive a new life in products such as textiles, storage boxes, and even home decor.

When you use them, you enjoy the same quality and function as usual polyester products, while also protecting the enviornment. And of course, they are just as clean and safe and thus contribute to the use of a smaller amount of new raw materials.

The curtains made of recyclable materials from our collections are minimalist, with simple patterns, refined textures and a natural look. They can be combined with bolder curtain patterns or can be easily integrated into any style of arrangement.

 

When you choose a curtain from recycled materials, you enjoy not only its appearance, but also the story it has behind it.

 

However, recycled polyester is not the only nature-friendly solution. Cotton can also be a good alternative to conventional polyester. Cotton is a natural, renewable, and biodegradable fiber that plays an important role in our lives. Today, cotton is the most widely used raw material in the world.

 

The natural, pleasant to the touch fabric is a versatile solution for unique curtains, with special designs, such as those from the Eclipse collection. Ercole and Martinique are two curtains made of 100% cotton, which were added during the Fall-Winter 2021 launch to the Eclipse collection, a collection dedicated to interior designers.
